Despite the increasing number of orthodontic treatment options available, traditional metal braces remain popular—mainly since a new generation of braces has emerged.

With advancements in orthodontics, braces have become less noticeable and more comfortable than ever before.

How do metal braces work?

Metal braces use a series of metal brackets, rubber elastics and thin wires called archwires to move your teeth into alignment. Dr Harris will attach a bracket to each of your teeth with a strong adhesive, run the archwire through them and attach it all together with the elastics.

You will then come in to our practice for regularly scheduled adjustment appointments so Dr Harris can bend your archwire in precise places to encourage your teeth to move into the proper positions.

Would metal braces work for me?

Regardless of how complex your orthodontic case is, there is a good chance of success with metal braces. This tried-and-true system is great for all ages and all types of bite issues from minor to severe.
